Color

The most sought-after hues are blue, yellow, or pink, but the stone can appear in a variety of hues.

Topaz is most commonly found in South America, but it can also be found in Sri Lanka, Africa, and China, usually in very light shades.

An uncolored and transparent gem known as topaz is found in nature; commercially available topaz, on the other hand, is usually tinted with impurities and can appear a variety of colors. If desired, it can be tinted any color from white to reddish-yellow and everything in between.

In addition to being the traditional November birthstone and state gemstone of Utah, orange topaz is also known as precious topaz.

Colors of imperial topazis can range from yellow to pink to pink-orange. Imperial Topaz from Brazil can range from bright yellow to deep golden brown and even violet in color. Topazes that are naturally brown or pale are often dyed a vibrant shade of yellow, gold, pink, or violet. It is possible for some Imperial topaz stones to fade from prolonged exposure to sunlight.

The State Gem Of Texas Is Blue Topaz:

Blue topaz in its natural state is extremely rare. To achieve a deeper shade of blue, material that is colorless, gray, or pale yellow and blue is heated and irradiated.

It is a colorless topaz that has been coated artificially in order to achieve the desired rainbow effect.

The use of heat or low-grade irradiation to enhance the stone’s color is a common permanent treatment.

History

The Russians were the first to popularize this gemstone as jewelry in the 18th and 19th centuries.

In folklore, topaz is revered for its ability to enhance vision and dispel magic spells and enchantments.

It was a belief held by the ancient Greeks that if a person wore it, he or she would become more powerful.

In Egypt, people believed that the sun god sent it as a gift because of its warm, illuminating hue.

Nissan, David and his team were extremely accommodating, understanding and patient with our purchase. They took the upmost care to find the best solution for our needs and went above and beyond normal ‘customer service’ standards. I have absolutely no qualms recommending their products and services. Both were absolutely flawless. I will continue to sing them praises and will most definitely purchase from them again in the future. Thank you again!

Bought a beautiful stone here for an engagement ring. I was a little apprehensive since you’re buying something unseen. But Cid made it easy. In fact, Nissan, the owner also gave a call to make me more comfortable. They sent me the stone to take to a local jeweler with only my Amex in case I bailed on them.
