What Is a 2 Carat Diamond?
Carat is a measurement of a diamond’s weight, not its size, which is a common misconception. The equivalent of a carat of gold is 200 mg (5 carats in a gram).
For example, diamond shapes like pear or oval may appear larger than round brilliant diamonds, even if they have the same carat weight. The shape and cut quality of a diamond will affect how ‘big’ the diamond appears. Similar to a well-cut diamond, a poorly cut diamond will compromise proportions, making it appear smaller and less brilliant, whereas a well-cut diamond will have the correct proportions to maximize light return
Use the 4c’s to Select a 2 Carat Diamond
Consider the 4C’s when shopping for a 2 carat diamond: color, clarity, carat, and weight. Because we work closely with our customers, we know that each person has a unique set of requirements and a unique budget to work with. Some rules must be followed in order to find an attractive 2 carat diamond, but there is some room for wiggle room as well.

Color
Color is one of the 4C’s where we see the most variation in our customers’ preferences. Color grades D-K are available, and we’d be happy to recommend any of them for a 2 carat diamond. Some customers prefer the warm hue of diamonds graded J and below, but a yellow or rose gold setting can make them appear whiter. D-H colors are recommended for a guaranteed icy white sparkle, depending on your budget.
Clarity
2 carat diamonds should have a vs2 or higher clarity. Eye-clean and devoid of obstructive inclusions are the primary goals of this grading system.
Cut
The cut of your diamond will have the greatest impact on both its beauty and its value. Our super-ideal cut diamonds were designed to provide buyers with the best of the best in terms of quality. When it comes to diamond cut, the percentages, proportions, and angles all play a significant role in how the stone appears. Our diamonds have already done the hard work for you. These advanced light performance reports and images show it. When it comes to diamond quality, there is no room for compromising, so get the best cut you can afford.

Price of a 2 Carat Diamond
At the lower end of the price range we’ve suggested for a 2ct diamond, you’d be looking at around $14,000. Diamonds in the A line are some of the most ideal-cut diamonds in the world. Because of the K color grade, the price ($13,862) is near the bottom of the market for a 2ct diamond. However, there’s no denying the beauty of this diamond. When it comes to certification, a small trade-off in color means a significant price difference when it comes to certified, eye-clean and a beautiful cut, To learn everything there is to know about K-color diamonds, check out our comprehensive guide.
This gorgeous H-VS1 round brilliant diamond, which is in the middle of the price range, is an excellent example of a stunning diamond. This diamond’s high-resolution image makes it easy for even a non-expert to see how precise and beautiful it is. VS1 clarity and H color grade put it right in the middle of the ‘near colorless’ range at $24,733 each.
This F-VVS2 round brilliant, which retails for $38,061, represents the upper end of the budget. Anyone looking for an investment or simply looking for the best of the best should look no further than our Collection Series.
Tens of thousands of dollars in price difference can be attributed to differences in quality. Even though each of these three diamonds has a slightly different clarity and color grade, they are all stunning in their own way. You won’t find a 2 carat diamond for less than $2,000, and if you do, it’s likely that the diamond has significant flaws.
