Last week, the AGA announced that Donovan will take over for Jan Giamanco, who is retiring from the position after 20 years. She will be able to perform both her new and old roles at the same time in the same show.
As part of his new dual role, Donovan will continue to collaborate with the AGA’s board of governors while also focusing on growing the group’s global membership, raising brand awareness, and improving member benefits, according to the AGA.
GIA [Gemological Institute of America] alumni, as well as her involvement in the gem and mineral industry, have made Kate a familiar face to many of our members, according to Teri Brossmer, president of the AGA.“Kate is a familiar face to many of our members through her tenure as the global alumni manager for GIA [Gemological Institute of America], and her involvement in the gem and mineral world, Kate’s marketing genius, industry connections, and impeccable reputation will serve AGA well, and we are lucky to have her.”
Established in 1974 to provide continuing education and promote business standards, the AGA is an independent non-profit organization.
