The wedding season is in full swing now that summer is just around the bend. So this month, I’ll be focusing on what I consider to be the most important aspect of my life: the wedding rings.
Wedding bands have been worn on every finger, including the thumb, in the past. Wedding rings are usually worn on a person’s fourth finger, which they think connects directly to the heart’s veins. “Vena Amoris,” or vein of love, was a Roman term for this.
Nevertheless, it is not the same in different countries and cultures, such as in Spain (left), Denmark (right), and Russia (left). Regardless of how you choose to wear your wedding ring, it is a show of your commitment to the person you are with.
The wedding ring of the Victorian era was a simple gold band. For today’s modern brides, this simple conventional ring has endured the test of time and is available in a number of widths and metal color combinations.
If you’re planning to be married, you may want to look into getting an engagement ring and a wedding band that match. Wedding bands come in a variety of shapes and sizes for those of you who have vintage engagement rings or an odd profile. Small pave diamond accents can be put in exquisite criss-cross effect rings, which fascinate me. It’s also possible to wear an engagement ring surrounded by a delicately curved band, which is great if you want a band that looks natural when worn alone.
Many brides are seeking for a little additional glitz and glamour. If you’re a fan of precious stones, a wedding band set with diamonds can be a good option for you.
Diamond cut engraved wedding rings are a great option if you want something sparkly but don’t want a gem-set band. Using a diamond-cutting technique, these decorative motifs give the impression of diamonds gleaming in the light.
Since recently, I’ve noticed that more couples are opting for the nostalgic option, thinking about future generations as they start their own kids. Because of this, heirloom-inspired designs have taken center stage, often including diamonds that were passed down through the generations. The new ring is then set with the gems, and the romance can truly begin.
There are so many options when it comes to finding the perfect wedding rings. If you’re looking for a ring, do some research on what you’re looking for, and then try on a few to see how they fit. This is where a trusted jeweler in your neighborhood can be of service. Your jeweler’s knowledge and expertise will be invaluable in helping you choose the perfect ring to go with your engagement ring.
