Tax Free Diamond Online Sale Is Stabilizing the Diamond Industry
2007: Tax Free Diamond Online Sale Should Be Permanent Around the World
In an article in the New York Sun, former vice presidential candidate Jack Kemp persuasively made the case that internet purchases should remain tax free, and shouldn’t be saddled with additional sales taxes, as some in the industry are calling for.
He notes that if the internet is taxed, it will slow the growth in a sector that has been one of the most dynamic parts of our economy. Since we already pay so much for wireless services, we cannot overtax internet communications.
“For the sake of continued economic growth and innovation and innovation,” he concluded, “Congress must keep the internet permanently tax Free.”
