2002: Diamond Predictions by Wyoming May Develop Canadian Diamond Market
A top geologist at the Wyoming Geological Survey reportedly says the state has the potential for a billion-dollar diamond mining business.
According to TheDenverChannel.com news service, Dan Hausel has suggested that the governor a point a committee to jump-start the business. Wyoming shares much in common with the regions of Canada that have been the subject of exploration and development for nearly a decade.
Wyoming, which has been geologically identified as having rich diamond potential, claims the two largest kimberlite fields in the United States, yet the closest diamond mine is located to the south, in Colorado.
