At the Christie’s Hong Kong Spring sale on May 29, a rare 8.01-carat fancy vivid blue diamond will be up for sale. The blue diamond is a rare stone as it is graded the highest color of fancy vivid and is internally flawless. Experts of the auction house estimate the diamond to fetch between $18.5 million to $25 million.
The 8.01 blue diamond is a pear shape and will be sold in a necklace. The necklace will be featuring a 1.60 carat fancy intense diamond and two 0.35 carat colorless diamonds.
Besides this rare and colored diamond lot, other colored diamonds notable to mention are:
- Fancy intense, VVS1, orangey-pink oval diamond of 12.85 carat that is surrounded by half moon and triangular shaped white diamonds.
Estimated diamond price $5.7 to $8.3 million
- Fancy intense pear shaped blue diamond of 2.35 carats that is internally flawless and has diamond type classification of IIb. Surrounded by pink diamonds and a bifurcated three quarter hoop the diamond ring is estimated to fetch $1.2 to $1.9 million USD.
- A pair of fancy vivid yellow diamond emerald cut diamonds set as earrings. Weighing approximately 8.02 and 7.76 carats the yellow diamonds are surmounted with square fancy vivid diamonds of 1.74 and 1.60 carats.
