The most accurate grading lab in the world, The Gemological Institute of Ameria (GIA) has revealed a new diamond grading report. The grading report is different from the current diamond grading report as it will highlight the country from which the loose diamond was unearthed, a full 4Cs quality analysis, and a report number inscription.
According to the GIA, they will issue the Diamond Origin Report for stones that were submitted for analysis in rough form and once again as a polished stone. In this way, the GIA can match the two details and confirm the loose diamond its country of origin.
“In recent years, there has been a growing demand for transparency and traceability in the diamond industry,” and “Consumers want to know the origin of products and their socioeconomic and environmental impact.” – Susan Jacques, the GIA’s president and CEO.
The GIA diamond origin report will be available digital and print to support the retailers. The reason why this report will support the retailers is that it enables them to convey the unique story of each loose diamond to a customer.
The diamond origin report will be available starting from April 30.
