The Jewelry and Diamond design award will take place at the Sands Expo at Convention Centre. More than 200 diamond professionals will showcase their inventory of loose diamonds, diamond jewelry and other precious gemstones.
Jewelry design awards will be presented in recognition of young and upcoming jewelry designers under the theme ‘The Most important Day of Life,’ which required jewelry designers to create a piece of jewelry for the most important day in his or her life in three different periods: the past, present and future. Further supporting emerging jewelry design talent, local jewelry design schools will be able to showcase their students’ jewelry creations at the fair, featuring loose diamonds, precious gems and precious metals.
Additionally, show organizers UBM have scheduled seminars from the GIA, JJDMIS and GIT. Paul Wan, managing director of UBM said talent is important to foster, as it is vital to the jewelry industry. “We are committed to enabling aspiring jewelry designers to realize their potential,” he said. “They play an important role in bringing the industry to the next level because they contribute fresh perspective to diamond jewelry design using creative new techniques.
