Recently the industry has been talking about the latest buy of Harry Winston as the luxury brand purchased Christie’s Blue and Pink diamond ring. The very rare colored diamond ring was up for auction at Christie’s in Hong Kong that sold $79.8 million worth of jewelry in total.
The CEO of Harry Winston, Nayla Hayek shared that he was so happy to have been able to secure that rare blue diamond and that is will take up a prominent place in their collection of top gems. The pre-sale estimated price for Christie’s top lot was set around $8.3 million to $11 million. At the end the brand paid $8.9 million for the ring as it contains a rectangular –cut 3.98-carat, fancy vivid blue, VVS2 diamond in the center, with triangular pink diamonds mounted along side the ring cushion.

Eleven palmette motifs with circular-cut emerald detail and each center palmette have a rectangular cut emerald that weighs around 12.34 to 3.03 carats, alternating vari-cut diamond foliate links.

A line of cushion cut sapphires graded by Gübelin GemLab weighing around 9.47, 7.62, 4.14, 3.83, 3.53, 3.41 and 3.19 carats. The Sapphires have no indications of heating and color. In the trade, this color is called “royal blue”. In addition, the bracelets feature D to E, rectangular cut diamonds of 4.67 to 2.01 carats.

But besides jewelry, a handbag adorned with 205 diamonds ranging from VVS clarity till F to G color went up for auction. The bag weighs in total 10.23 carats and went under the hammer for $379,261 USD surpassing the pre-sale estimate set at $257,909.
