What is most important for the diamond price of a ring?

All diamond rings are special, and each will have their own beautifully unique design. But above the ring design, precious metal, and ring settings, the most important part of the ring is the diamond itself of course. Diamond prices for rings will, for the most part, be decided by the center diamond mounted on the ring. So a diamond ring made with yellow gold, halo setting, and 2 shoulder pear shape diamonds, will vary a lot in diamond price depending on whether it’s mounted with a 2 carat diamond or a much larger stone like a 5 carat diamond.

Breaking it down – the price of the diamond

So if the diamond is the most important part of understanding the diamond prices for rings, how are diamond prices calculated? Diamonds are priced according to quality and rarity. The higher the quality and size, the higher the rarity. Diamond quality can be broken down into the 4Cs:

Diamond price list

With that information, you can read the diamond price list as used in the wholesale diamond industry to see what the price is of a 1 carat VVS1 D color diamond, or perhaps a 5 carat VS1 G color diamond. Note that in order to see the total price for wholesale diamonds, you need to multiply the value you see in the price list, by the total carat size. So for 2-carat diamonds, multiply by 2. For 3 carat diamonds multiply by 3. For 4 carat diamonds multiply by 4, and so on.

Prices for diamond rings

If you buy diamond rings from retail stores, most likely you will not know how much the diamond and ring design cost separately, so there is no way in knowing what the ring actually costs. If you buy wholesale loose diamonds, the loose diamond and ring design are shown as separate prices, so you know exactly how much you’re paying for each! So ask for a free quote and see which wholesale diamonds are available today, worldwide, to be mounted onto your perfect diamond ring.
