Dhamani Jewels has become the first retailer in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to join the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), marking the company's entry into the organization.
According to Dhamani CEO Amit Dhamani, “We believe that our commitment to the implementation of the Code of Practices will help us strengthen our management systems and build greater sustainability throughout our supply chain," “Consumer confidence is our priority. It is all about trust.”
According to the RJC, the organization is trying to extend its footprint throughout the Middle East, which is one of the fastest-growing regions for the jewelry industry.
RJC executive director Iris Van der Veken commented, "We are looking forward to learning how the Code of Practices can assist [Dhamani] in incorporating sustainability into the core of their business plan." "We hope that it will serve as an example for other enterprises in the Middle East to follow in their footsteps."
Dhamani was founded in 1969 and currently operates three boutiques in the United Arab Emirates. Also in the emirates are Dusoul, Dhamani Jewels, and Dhamani 1969 brand stores, which are spread across 13 different locations.
