1990: Diamond Conferences Involve Mining Administrators from Diamond Centers
Investor interest in diamond mining is clearly surging if the proliferation of diamond mining conferences is any indication. A sampling:
This month, the 2nd Financial Times Diamonds Conference is being held in London on October 27. Speakers range from Botswana’s Minister of Mineral Resources and Water Affairs David Magang to the CSO’s Gary Ralfe and Argyle Diamonds’ General Manager, Rough Diamonds Sales, Mike Mitchell.
On November 20-21, the Adam Smith Institute will sponsor its Second International Conference on Commercial Opportunities in The Gold and Diamond Industries of Russia and the Central Asian Republics in London. Keynoting the conference will be mining officials from these diamond centers.
And on February 3-5, Cape Town, South Africa will be the location of the Third Annual Investing in African Mining Conference/Indaba ’98 featuring a range of government mining ministers and private industry leaders.
