On February 12th, the 70th British Academy Film Awards was held in London’s Royal Albert Hall with none other than the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who sparkled in heartwarming diamond jewels. The royal Duchess shined on the BAFTAs red carpet giving us all the more reason to share an overview of BAFTAs best diamond jewels, including Kate’s incredible diamond earrings.
The two most talked about celebrities for their diamond jewelry at the BAFTAs are Kate Middleton and Nicole Kidman.
The Duchess of Cambridge – Kate Middleton
Catching the attention by wearing a pair of sizable drop-shaped chandelier diamond earrings that are until now from an unknown source. Speculations are that the diamond earrings can even be a custom design from Kate herself, but time will tell. The earrings have a large pear-shaped pink diamond or morganites as center gem while surrounding the pear cut with old cut diamonds.
Nominee for Best actress – Nicole Kidman
Actress Nicole fetched attention because she was dripping in diamonds, to be exact more than 130 carats of diamonds. The most carat weight is from the necklace as it weighs in total 67.63 carats. The necklace is the long caftan tassel platinum necklace of Harry Winston. She combined the necklace with emerald diamond ear studs, a marquise cluster diamond bracelet and a pear-shaped cluster diamond ring. And last but not least an elegant diamond cluster brooch to finish her look.
More jewelry, bling, and dazzle
These two ladies dominated the news with their jewelry but other attendances were quite minded blowing too. Take for example actress and producer Daisy Ridley, who was not only wearing a beautiful gown her Paris nouvelle vague bracelet of 18k white gold that is lacquer and dazzled with diamonds were impressive.
Just as Amy Adams her emerald and jade earrings and Harry Potter writer her diamond crusted earrings and handcuff.
Katy Perry was from head to toe covered in gold. Matching her dress with the right dress and to finish it wearing champagne jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz.
Others balanced their jewelry with their amazing gowns, such as LaLa Land actress Emma Stone as she combined her sparkling gown with a minimalistic pair of diamond earrings or Emily Blunt who wore blue sapphire earrings and a dragon fly ring by Lorraine Schwartz.
The annual event is to honor the British motion picture industry. World’s most famous stars come to this event, including royalty.
