Labs Warn: Beware Chinese HTHP Yellow Diamonds

General Electric are apparently not the only people getting involved with high pressure, high temperature treatment. There are reports that treated fancy yellow diamonds are coming from China. There are already treated green stones on the market, sold by a company known as NovaDiamond. GE is, of course, treating whites with high pressure and temperature — which is scariest to people in the business. They are identifying these diamonds as treated and partner Lazare Kaplan is selling them directly to retailers under the new brand name of "Bellataire."
