GIA to hold 7 week loose diamonds education program
Loose diamonds & diamond jewelry experts share advice
The GIA is the number one most authoritative source when it comes to diamond grading and jewelry appraisal. They will hold a 7 week diamond education program to share advice and wisdom from their research and education activities in the field of gemology and diamond jewelry design. The diamond education program will commence on January 8 2015, and will be held on the Mumbai campus.
The program will combine theory lessons with practical assignments and market visits to diamond jewelry manufacturing facilities, loose diamonds cutting houses and diamond shops to help the students gain an understanding of the day-to-day business in the diamond industry. The learning objective for the participants is to gain an understanding of the 4Cs of diamonds (carat, cut, color and diamond clarity), how diamond grading works using the GIA diamond color scale, how to use diamond grading tools and how to identify synthetics, treatments and simulants.
Ultimately, this program is aimed to serve the consumer. For the diamond industry to remain its integrity and serve consumers in a truthful way, diamond experts need to receive the absolute best training. Only then will diamond experts be able to provide advice on how to buy loose diamonds, how to source diamond jewelry and how to assess quality through diamond grading.
Additionally, diamond experts that truly have their client’s best interest in mind will always insist on GIA certification instead of any other diamond grading certificate. They are the number one authority in grading loose diamonds and this education program denotes why.
